Remote Supports & Enabling Technology — National Coverage

The provider enrollment above reflects our home-region states. Separately, Luka Bear is pursuing recognition as Remote Supports / Enabling Technology nationally, in phased waves, working with state DD and Medicaid agencies and Remote Supports provider partners.

States that already recognize Remote Supports or Enabling Technology in their HCBS or I/DD programs include Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Washington, Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Iowa, Maine, Wyoming, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Additional states across the remaining waves are under active review.

Remote Supports and Enabling Technology are service categories many HCBS waivers use to fund technology that increases independence and reduces required on-site staff hours, often under self-direction or participant-directed budgets. Recognition and billing rules vary by state; we confirm the current billable service definition for each state before enrollment, and use submitted, pending, and confirmed language only when those are the accurate current statuses.
